HRS Rail Ltd provides civil engineering, structural repairs and maintenance services for railway bridges, viaducts, footbridges and associated infrastructure.
From initial surveys through to installation and handover, we help clients maintain and improve their assets. We plan our work around the demands of the operational railway, including night shifts, weekend possessions and restricted access.
Structural Repairs and Steelwork
Repair, strengthening and replacement of steel and concrete components, including bracing, bearing plates, decking, handrails and fixings. We coordinate site surveys, fabrication and installation to suit the existing structure.
Brickwork and Masonry
Brick replacement, repointing, recasing and repairs to bridges, viaducts and abutments. Our services also include calcite removal and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas.
Surface Preparation and Protective Coatings
Mechanical preparation, high-pressure and ultra-high-pressure water jetting, and application of specified protective coating systems. We provide localised paint repairs and wider repainting works, supported by inspection and quality records.
GRP Decking, Walkways and Access
Installation and replacement of glass reinforced plastic (GRP) walkways, decking, landings and stair treads. We also undertake supporting framework, handrail and mesh infill works, including replacing existing timber or steel decking.
Surveys and Inspections
Site measurement, steelwork surveys, corrosion assessments and ultrasonic thickness testing to help identify defects and inform repairs. We also coordinate specialist investigations, topographical surveys and 3D laser scanning.
Drainage and Groundworks
Drainage installation and repairs, drain and downpipe clearance, excavation, backfilling and reinstatement. Our services extend to French drains, kerbing, gabions and associated watercourse works.
Site Clearance and Enabling Works
Vegetation clearance, debris and redundant material removal, deck dismantling and access preparation. These works prepare sites for construction and expose concealed areas for inspection.
Project Planning and Delivery
Estimating, programme preparation, resource planning and site supervision, alongside coordination of specialist contractors, repair drawings, temporary works and technical approvals. We support delivery with progress reports, quality records and handover documentation.
Reactive and Urgent Repairs
Support with making safe, localised repairs and component replacement, followed by further inspections or permanent repairs where required.
